GE English Unit stage4 Page 01This is a program for a conceptual English Unit for Stage 4, using the ‘food show’ format to introduce an understanding of hybrid media programs and showing the importance of these shows in supporting intercultural understanding, Asia and Australia’s engagement with Asia, and sustainability. PDHPE: Healthy and Active Communities

pdhpeThis is a lesson for Stage 4, examining the practices of young people within the local community and then comparing these behaviours with those of a person from a Pacific or Asian country. Music for film: China

mus chinThis unit of work for secondary classes is designed to suit the music topic Music for Film, TV, Radio and Multimedia, as well as Music of a Culture. The underlying approach is Orff-based, in that there is experiment with sound that leads to creativity. This series of lesson ideas can be adapted for Year 10 and Year 11 Music 1. The lesson ideas are designed to allow teachers to develop a single idea into a larger lesson or to combine several ideas together in the one lesson or series.

Songs of Country: Indonesia

mus indoThis unit of work for primary classes is designed for teachers who do not have a lot of musical experience but who are prepared to try their hand. The approach is Orff-based, in that there is experiment with sound that leads to creativity. This series of lessons can be adapted for classes from Years 3-6. The lessons are designed to be short so that teachers can use twenty minute or ten minute transitions, or can use several lesson ideas together. The Global Education Project NSW acknowledges the contribution of this lesson by Anne Power and Sarah Powell of the Orff Schulwerk Association of NSW.
